OPI Pink Shatter: Pink Of Hearts

OPI launches the limited edition Pink Shatter: Pink of Hearts Nail Lacquer to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure^® in its promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever. The 2011 Pink of Hearts edition will follow in the footsteps of its namesake 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Nail Lacquers in raising awareness of breast cancer for the fifth year in a row, during the months of September and October (National Breast Cancer Awareness Month). Unlike previous shade incarnations, this year’s Pink of Hearts Nail Lacquer marks the debut of fan-favorite Shatter coat in OPI’s first pink shade.

“We are continuing to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the hopes of increasing breast cancer awareness, while inspiring and empowering women. The organization’s dedication to this cause is unwavering,” remarks Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “OPI is proud to join with Susan G. Komen for the fifth consecutive year to offer Pink Shatter: Pink of Hearts. By launching our first-ever Pink Shatter coat, we hope this exciting new textured hue will generate lots of awareness for this cause.”

Each bottle of Pink Shatter: Pink of Hearts has a special pink-ribbon tag and pink cap wrap to call attention to breast cancer awareness. OPI will also be making its annual donation of $25,000 to Komen for the Cure. Pink Shatter coat contains no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and it also features OPI’s exclusive ProWide^™ Brush for the ultimate in application.

The limited edition Pink Shatter: Pink of Hearts will be available throughout the months of September and October 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

ShoeClips.biz Review

I received a pair of the Chiffon Flower Shoe Clips in White with Black Dots from ShoeClips.biz. This particular pair retails for $14.00 USD. They have a huge variety of different designs and colors. They range in price from $6.00 USD to $39.00 USD and up. Of course the pricier ones are made with suede, feathers or Swarovski crystals. They even offer a pair made from Mink fur. I absolute love the idea of shoe clips and was so happy to be given the chance to try them out. There are so many different ways to wear these. I wear them as pictured on my flip flops. Its a great way to dress up everyday shoes to make them dressier. You could also attach them to a belt, boots, pumps, or on the back of a pair of pumps. Just use your imagination! 

They are very easy to use. On the back there is a metal hinged clip, and all you have to do is open it then snap it shut once you have it where you want it on your shoes. These won't slip off because the clips have gripping prongs that will make them stay. Don't worry they wont damage your shoes. Each pair also includes a piece of adhesive padding that can be attached to the underside where it is touching your foot. I found that I didn't even need to use it, but its nice that they include this.

NOTD: Funky Crackle Manicure

Just a quick post on my NOTD. This is L.A. Colors Color Craze in Treasure Island with Sally Hansen's Crackle Overcoat in Vintage Violet. I absolutely love crackle manicures right now. Since it is summertime I have been having fun with bright colors. One of my favorite color combinations is teal and purple. 

Claire's Baked Eyeshadow Trio in Mother Nature

This trio retails for $4.00 USD or $4.50 CAD. I bought this while they had a buy one get one half off sale, so I got it for even cheaper. If you can still find this I highly suggest it.

The top shade is a copper toned bronze, the midde shade is more of a true golden bronze and the bottom shade is a teal with golden duo chrome. These shadows are very pigmented. In the swatches, that is just one swipe. This would be a great trio to take for travel, because you could do a neutral eye and add a pop of color if you wanted. I use the neutral shades for my lids and under my lower lash line I will use the teal shade.

1 Coat

This a super pretty pink glitter with some silver glitter in it as well. There is definitely more pink as you can tell.  This retails for only $0.99!!! How can you go wrong?!? This is a great glitter for underneath crackle polishes, especially black. It would be nice on top of a pink nail polish too. I've even used it to do a "glitter nail" and paint the rest of my nails another color. I can get away with one coat, but I usually do two just so it would be ever more opaque. This is pretty close to OPI Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry collection. I wouldn't call it an exact dupe, but its definitely close.

Barielle Jess' Champagne Toast

This polish is absolute GORGEOUS. This was part of their 2010 Holiday Hustle collection. I just picked it up recently when they had two days where if you ordered you would get free shipping. On top of that the nail polishes were buy 1 get 1 half off. So for two nail polishes it cost me $12.00 USD. I thought that was a great deal. The polishes normally retail for $8.00 USD a piece. Barielle describes it as a "Metallic violet with rose gold glitter."  I definitely agree on the lavender/violet part but not on the color of the glitter. The micro-glitter in this is pink and blue. None the less, this is still a very unique color. The glitter almost "sinks" to the bottom so you don't see it as much as I would like.

BeneFit Coralista Boxed Blush

I have been wanting this blush for so long. I was on the fence about purchasing it because I just couldn't justify the $28.00, but I finally broke down and got it. Being that it was so expensive and that I could almost get two MAC blushes for just a little more, I had very high hopes for this blush. Look how gorgeous it is.....

Unfortunately Coralista just did not work out for me. It looked great when I swatched it on my hands at Sephora, but when I applied it on my cheeks it was too sheer. I even tried building it up and it still did not work. I wanted to like this blush more than anything. :(
